Overword (“the Service”) is an anonymous, real-time word display platform operated at overword.org. Users can submit single words (up to 12 characters) that are displayed to all visitors in real time. No accounts or personal information are required to use the free features.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use this Service for any illegal purpose. This includes but is not limited to submitting content that violates any applicable law, promotes violence, or constitutes harassment. We reserve the right to filter, moderate, or remove any content at our sole discretion without notice.

3. Paid Features & Payments

The Service offers optional paid digital features:

• Word Color ($0.99) — Assigns a color to a word that persists until changed by another user.
• Word Lock ($1.99) — Locks a word in the center display for 10 seconds, preventing changes during that period.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store or handle your payment card details directly. By completing a purchase, you agree that:

• All purchases are for digital effects delivered immediately upon payment confirmation.
• Effects are cosmetic and temporary in nature.
• Other users may subsequently change, override, or replace the effect you purchased.
• All sales are final. No refunds will be issued, as the digital service is delivered instantly.

Prices may change at any time. Features may be added, modified, or removed without prior notice.

4. Age Requirement

You must be at least 13 years of age to use this Service. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to make any purchases. By making a purchase, you represent that you are of legal age to enter into a binding agreement or have obtained the necessary consent.

5. Intellectual Property

Words submitted by users are not claimed as intellectual property by the Service. The Service itself, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of its operator. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE OPERATOR OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

We are not responsible for any content submitted by users. We reserve the right to remove any content and restrict access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice. Automated filters are in place but may not catch all prohibited content.

9. Service Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
